Small group programmes
We currently have three different group programmes running, where up to four young people work progressively towards improved communication and teamwork.
These all consist of structured outdoor activities and challenges, with the option to work towards nationally recognised adventurous activity awards. We provide unique learning environments around the county, with each session tailored towards a specific goal or task.
Participants are ideally referred for a September start, and would stay with us for the full academic year (36 weeks), although termly entry points can be arranged.
Transport cannot be guaranteed on group sessions.
MAPP (Multi Adventure Participation Programme)
Young people enrolled on this programme will benefit from a seasonal timetable of adventurous activities including mountain biking, climbing and paddle sports, providing a positive and practical focus for energetic or disengaged teenagers.
Participants will discover resilience, teamwork, confidence and the best version of themselves. Participants are also enrolled on the Duke of Edinburgh award and will work through some of the sections throughout the year. Age 13+.
Grow Wild
A grounding, nature-based programme, supporting learners with SEN, SEMH, anxiety or depression. Running initially from Minstead Study Centre, including activities from other suitable locations around Hampshire, the programme includes sessions of bushcraft, teambuilding and creative, hands-on projects. Therapeutic outdoor programme building confidence, self-esteem, resilience and communication. Age 13+.

Outdoor Discovery Programme
Newly launched in September 2024, our Primary school offer is a hands-on, creative experiential learning opportunity for KS2. The programme focuses on social interaction, social awareness, curiosity and learning through storytelling, games and adventurous activities.
SEN colleagues wishing to refer into the primary programme should first contact their area manager to find out if we are taking referrals in their locality. Age 9-11

JT always talks enthusiastically about attending his sessions, he talks fondly about the experiences he has and always engages in lessons with us after his sessions with Hampshire Outdoors.
