Privilege transport

Privilege Transport provides the opportunity - for those not entitled to transport - to purchase and use a spare seat on pre-existing Home to School Transport routes contracted by Hampshire County Council.

Applications for the 2018/19 academic year can now be made via the online application form. Please be aware that the new Home to School Transport Policy  will apply to all privilege transport applications from September 2018. This includes a new tiered charging structure as outlined in the table below.

Distance to Travel Annual Charge Termly Cost
 Up to 5 miles* £600 £200
 5.01 to 7.5 miles* £831 £277
 7.51 to 10 miles* £1,164 £388
 Over 10 miles* £1,330 £443

*Distance to Travel will be measured from the allocated outbound pickup point/ bus stop on the route schedule.

For an indication of the distance which your child may be using transport for, visit Google maps. However please note that the County Council uses GIS mapping software to determine distance, and these measurements will be used to assess the Annual charge for each individual travelling.
