Eligibility and how to apply
Local Authority funded transport assistance
Over 90% of Hampshire school pupils’ home to school journey is organised by the family. See our Travel to School page for ideas on how you could do this too.
Help with the school journey can only be offered if you meet the eligibility criteria for Hampshire County Council funded transport assistance. The full eligibility criteria can be found in the relevant policy document:
- School Transport Policy (2024) effective from April 2024 for students of compulsory school age. (Compulsory school age is the term following your child's fifth birthday until the end of the school year in which they turn 16 years of age.)
- Post-16 Transport Policy Statement 2024 : Effective from September 2024
