Landscape types
Landscape types are the building blocks of landscape classification and are classified mainly on the basis of factors such as soils, landform, vegetation and settlement pattern. They are generic and can occur anywhere in the County. For example Woodland and Plantation on Heath occurs as a landscape type in the New Forest, as well as near Farnborough and in parts of the Weald in East Hampshire.
