Inter-country adoption

Adopting a child from a country outside of the UK is called Inter-Country Adoption. If you are thinking about adoption via this route you still need to be assessed and approved by a recognised Adoption Agency in the UK.

If you live in Hampshire (excluding Southampton and Portsmouth) your assessment is undertaken by a voluntary adoption agency called the Inter Country Adoption Centre.

If you live in Southampton or Portsmouth you need to contact your local authority.
