Support for carers
Carers are people who provide unpaid practical or emotional support to a family member, friend or neighbour who needs help to manage their everyday activities. Many people do not see themselves as a carer; but as a husband, wife, child, parent or friend.
Caring for someone else can be stressful and demanding. It’s very important you take time to look after yourself. Information about arranging a break from caring is available.
The Hampshire carers support service is a countywide service that provides information, advice and direct one-to-one support. The service can be accessed online, by phone or in person. There is also help with contingency and emergency planning.
Anyone who may need support in their caring role has a right to a carers assessment.
