Supporting children at home and in an education setting
We support children and young people who are deaf or hearing impaired, have a visual impairment or physical disability, or have speech, language and communication needs.
Our team is made up of experienced teachers and other professionals with qualifications in their relevant specialisms. Once we receive a referral we will assess and support your child based on their level of need.
Update on ways of working during Covid-19
The Specialist Teacher Advisory Service (STAS) continue to provide support to children, young people, their families and educational settings. Most staff continue to work from home as access to Hampshire offices is very limited. Support may be given remotely where a visit is not possible. All visits will be planned in advance and follow a clear risk assessment based on the latest government guidance.
STAS can offer support to schools, parents or other professionals by phone or email. If you would like a consultation with a member of the service, please either email the STAS professional who is currently supporting your child or contact the relevant STAS Team Leader below.
- Communication and Interaction: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Physical Disability/Assistive Technology: email@example.com
- Sensory Impairment (Hearing or Visual): firstname.lastname@example.org
STAS is a term-time only service so please remember this if you contact the service during a school holiday.
