Healthy weight

Service information and resources for healthy weight services

Introduction

An increasing number of adults (over 63%) are becoming overweight and obese.

Being overweight contributes to and exacerbates multiple co-morbidities, affects quality of life and has greatest impact on those already experiencing inequalities. Obesity is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders and some cancers (endometrial, breast and colon).
