Woods of the World

To the far side of the pond a gentle slope leads to the Woods of the World

The woodland here was once a dense forest plantation of mostly Douglas fir grown for timber. This area has been thinned and is now home to various trees native to North America, Japan and Europe. These include rare mountain ash and white beam. This project is at an early stage and will be realised in 3 to 5 years.

Our woodland pigs live in the woods and are popular with children and adults alike. The delightful saddleback pigs, help to clear the scrubland. The pigs are not always there, so make sure to ask on your way into the Gardens.
