Approximately 65 different types of plants were included in the recent Hypericum trial, the aim of the trial was to establish garden worthiness, resolve any naming problems and assess their medicinal properties.
The three-year Hypericum trial in association with the Royal Horticultural Society, proved very successful and a national collection of Hypericum are currently being planted across the Gardens.
The Hypericum lancasteri is grown in the Gardens, named in honour of our patron Roy Lancaster.
