Permits for carers and health professionals
Hampshire County Council is introducing a new Care and Health Worker Permit scheme across the county.
There are two different types of carer permits available:
- Family Carer Permit – for family members/relatives of a resident who requires care
- Health/Care Worker Permit – for professional health/care workers including those who work for the NHS and HCC.
The benefit of this system is that the permit allows care workers and relatives to park in residents’ parking zones when visiting vulnerable residents in their homes.
Family Carer Permit: this permit is available to be applied for by residents who require regular visits from family members or relatives for the purposes of care. It allows parking in any permit holder or shared use bays within the zone for which the permit is purchased. The permit is free of charge and valid for twelve months. The vehicle registration can be changed any time on the resident’s MiPermit account.
In order that an application can be considered, please provide the following evidence:
- Proof of residency of person requiring care )e.g., council tax bill or utility bill
- Proof of vehicle registration (e.g., V5C)
