Hampshire County Council is assessing options to improve the reliability of the Stagecoach Route 14 bus service between Basingstoke, Bramley and Tadley.
The route currently serves Bramley and continues to Tadley on some journeys. However, Tadley is already served by another, more frequent and direct bus service to Basingstoke, Route 2 from Baughurst. As part of the assessment, we are exploring whether all bus service 14 journeys could turn around in Bramley instead of continuing to Tadley. This could help reduce journey times and improve the reliability of the service.
Any turning location would need to be suitable for a double-decker bus to turn around safely.
Improving the reliability of the bus service could encourage more people to use public transport, reduce car journeys and support the objectives of Hampshire County Council Local Transport Plan 4.
Three potential turning locations have been identified:- Longbridge Road
- Bramley Lane / Moat Close
- The Street / Minchens Lane
- Funding Arrangements
- This project is being funded through the Department for Transport's Local Authority Bus Grant (LABG) programme, which provides funding to local transport authorities to improve and maintain bus services.
