Scheme overview

As part of Hampshire County Council's Local Transport Plan 4 (LTP4), which aims to create a carbon-neutral, resilient, and inclusive transport system by 2050, we are proposing an off-road cycle route through North Baddesley Recreation Ground. This route will provide a safe connection from Botley Road (A27) to Castle Lane. The scheme is currently in detailed design, and plans will be available soon, clearly showing the proposed improvements.

Works are currently scheduled to start in early 2026.

Funding Arrangements
Funding for the transport capital delivery schemes is separate from the County Council’s revenue budget and savings proposals. In the majority of cases funding comes from external grants and / or Section 106 contribution from developers. This funding usually has conditions that strictly control on how, where and when it can be spent.
