  • batteries
  • fluorescent lighting tubes
  • hazardous paint (denoted by the orange hazardous symbol)

Licences and vehicles

Businesses or traders carrying waste arising from their work must hold a valid Waste Carrier’s Licence from the Environment Agency, which should be shown to site staff when using the service.

Businesses or traders do not, however, require a HWRC permit from Hampshire County Council as these are for residents use only, when disposing of household waste.

Commercial-type vehicles such as vans are acceptable up to a maximum weight of 3.5 tonnes. Vehicles heavier than this will not be permitted access. Trailers are permitted up to a maximum length of 3m (approx. 10ft), this applies to the ‘box’ loading area of the trailer and not any attachments or towbars
