- newly qualified social workers looking to kickstart their career and undertake their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment
Providing support to vulnerable adults faced with difficult circumstances, our social workers are surrounded by supportive multi-disciplinary teams, who share a strong commitment to provide the highest quality care, using strengths-based techniques, and who feel passionately about upholding our values.
Social workers in our community teams, work with either Older Adults, or Younger Adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities or mental health concerns. These roles are mostly hybrid working, with a mixture of office and home working, plus travel within the community to visit residents. Our Independent Futures team works across the whole county and supports young people with disabilities who are in transition from Children’s to Adults' services.
Social workers in the Hospital teams perform a similar role to those in our community, with the key differences being the close partnership working with nurses, occupational therapists and consultants in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and are usually required to work on-site at the hospital.
Within some of our teams (including our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Team (MASH) in Fareham and our centralised Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHP) Hub based in Eastleigh), we employ Approved Mental Health Professionals to work with other social/health care professionals to complete assessments under the Mental Health Act.
