Draft Strategy
The draft Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Hampshire has now been prepared.
View the The Local Habitat Map.
The LNRS for Hampshire mapping has been created using the latest datasets and habitat information available for Hampshire. We are using local and national level datasets and that means there will inevitably be some discrepancies with what is actually on the ground, especially given the dynamic nature of land use change. Having oversight and input from local people and organisations across the county on this draft version of our map as part of the LNRS consultation will help us to make this map tool as accurate as possible when the final version is published in late 2025.
The Local Habitat Map is a guide and shows suggested measures for nature recovery in an area. It is important to undertake site specific investigations and seek expert advice and the necessary permissions before starting work on the ground. This consultation map should not be treated as definitive but as a tool to help plan and coordinate action for nature recovery. Please note that, for data protection purposes, Local Wildlife Sites (Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation) are only visible on this map up to 1:25,000.
A public consultation on the draft Strategy ran from 2 May to 23 June 2025.
