Supporting families, children and young people
Every family with children (0-4 years old) can access Hampshire's Health Visiting Service - currently supporting 70,000 children
Over 215,000 children being educated in Hampshire can get help from the School Nursing Service
Over 95% of Year R and Year 6 children have their height and weight measured by school nurses in Hampshire Schools in our National Child Measurement Programme
Over 6,700 new mothers in Hampshire supported to continue breastfeeding into the first two months after giving birth, giving their baby a healthy start
What we do in a year
Promoting sexual health
Over 33,000 unique patients accessed specialist sexual health services for sexually transmitted infection testing (excluding chlamydia) (2022)
Reducing tobacco use
4,840 people are supported to quit (Oct 22 - Sep 24).
59% are successful quits at 4 weeks. Smokefree Hampshire offer free and accessible support for residents who want to improve their health by quitting smoking.
Reducing dependency
on drugs and alcohol. Over3,900 people currently being helped indrug and alcohol treatment programmes with a further 4,400+ receiving short term support
Promoting healthy weight
More than 5,300 people were supported to achieve a healthy weight using Hampshire's adult weight management service
Improving the public's health
Around 25,500 Hampshire residents have a health check
Reducing violence
Around 1,500 adult victim-survivors and 800 children were supported by the domestic abuse victim support service in the last year
Working with partners
Working with partners on the building blocks for health. From walking and cycling schemes and accessing green spaces to supporting positive relationships, employment opportunities and preventing disease.
