Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels

We are pleased to announce that the Meals on Wheels service is now being delivered by Health & Independent Living Support (HILS).

You can use the online referral form or phone 0330 2000 103 (option 4).

If you are concerned that a loved one or someone else you know, is or will be unable to feed themselves, you should contact Hampshire County Council who will be able to assess them for eligibility for care support via this contact form.

Who can get meals on wheels

If you live in the Hampshire County Council area (excluding Southampton and Portsmouth), you can choose to receive Meals on Wheels through a service organised by the County Council if you have certain needs.

You must be aged 55 or more, or be 18 to 54 years old and have at least one of the following:

  • Dementia
  • A learning disability
  • A physical disability
  • A mental health issue
  • A history of substance abuse

Even if you are not eligible to receive Meals on Wheels, HILS may be able to provide you with meals. They can take private clients, including residents of Southampton and Portsmouth City Council areas, but there would be a higher cost involved which will include VAT.
