Backed by specialist industry publications PR Week, Campaign and Third Sector, this will see the County Council compete with BT, Dove, Vodafone and others to have its campaign named the Best Public Awareness Cause Campaign in the ‘Brand Led’ category.
Councillor Roz Chadd, the County Council’s Executive Lead Member for Children’s Services, said: “Congratulations and well done to everyone involved in achieving this prestigious award nomination. The team has worked hard to develop the Fostering Hampshire Children identity to recruit more foster carers, and the ‘You Can Campaign’ is testimony to this work. I want to wish the team the best of luck for the forthcoming awards."
Fostering Hampshire Children’s ‘You Can Foster’ campaign was designed to raise awareness of fostering and, crucially, generate interest from prospective foster carers during the winter period when enquiries are typically lower. Breaking tradition with previous campaigns, the campaign tells the heartfelt story of a child discovering their foster family over the winter period. It was created entirely in-house by Hampshire County Council’s marketing team and targeted to a range of audiences through selected channels.
Combining an informative approach with charming animation and authentic story-telling, the campaign was considered a resounding success and made waves across both the public and charity sector. It is credited with driving a 300% increase in formal fostering enquiries in December 2021, easily surpassing the typical targets for this time of year.
Taking place at BAFTA Piccadilly on Friday 10 June, the Purpose Awards recognise campaigns that use creative ideas to successfully highlight positive causes and are open to agencies, brands, public sector bodies and not-for-profit groups.
