Adults' Health and Care

Brings together two key functions Public Health and Adult social care.

Public Health works to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for everyone in Hampshire and reduce health inequalities, leading to less dependency on health and social care provision. Public Health is everyones business and is delivered through engagement, commissioning services, health protection and working in partnership with organisations across the County.

Adult Services provides information, advice, short-term and long-term care and support to people aged 18 years and over. This includes supporting older people, people with a learning or physical disability, people with mental health needs, and carers. The Departments key focus is to help people to better connect with their local communities, supporting them to maintain their independence at home for as long as possible. When this is no longer feasible, we help people to make the right choices about residential and nursing care.
