Activities

A day’s programme does not necessarily include all the listed activities and can be adapted to suit individual needs and requirements. Normally we fit in three to five activities during your visit.

Activities Learning objective: the children should learn...
Minibeast hunt to identify the variety of minibeasts found in different habitats. Ask us about using sweep nets in Summer and Autumn
Pond dipping to identify the variety of aquatic life found in ponds (usually mid-March-end October)
Bird’s breakfast to sort, identify, and explore a variety of fruits and seeds suitable for a bird's breakfast (best in Autumn)
Estate agents to consider the needs and requirements of animals when building a "home" for them in the Gardens
Bee game through a drama activity, about the life cycle of a plant and the role of bees in pollination
