Report missing or faded road markings
Please use the form on this page to tell us if the following types of lines are no longer visible:
- Stop
- Give way (Note that in urban areas give way lines on minor estate roads are unlikely to be reinstated)
- No entry
Requests for line refreshing are considered low priority. Requests will be assessed on a case by case basis and prioritised accordingly.
Line reinstatement following resurfacing
Road markings will be reinstated following resurfacing although delays may occur because of issues such as parked cars and weather conditions (the quality of the work can be affected by wet weather).
Access protection markings and disabled persons parking places
There are separate forms to request repainting of access protection markings (the white markings in the shape of a wide H that may be added to the road across a dropped kerb) and blue badge parking places.
More about road markings
Road markings assist highway users by providing instruction and information and make the highway safe. Hampshire County Council Highways is responsible for maintaining most lines and markings painted on the carriageway such as centre lines, edge lines, stop and give way markings etc. We refresh road marking and lining routinely when the road surface is re-dressed or repaired.
After submitting your report, you will not receive further updates. If you wish to track the progress of your enquiry or provide additional comments, you can do so using our Status Checker. Please do not report the same issue more than once or contact us for general updates, as this will add further pressure to our services.
