Parking Suspension Terms and Conditions
A bay suspension may be required so works or removals can take place. They may also support a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order for a road closure.
We must be satisfied there is a valid reason for the request, there are no reasonable alternatives for parking, and that it will not cause a safety or traffic problem.
Fees
The cost of the suspension comprises of a £50 admin fee and then £10 per day for each bay (6m car length) required.
Terms and Conditions
- The request must be made with a minimum of 10 working days notice. Our Civil Enforcement Officers require a minimum of 72 hours before the suspension is required to install notices of the suspension so other motorists are aware
- Once the suspension is in place, we cannot guarantee the requested bay/bays will be empty
- Any vehicles not authorised to use the suspended bay may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN)
- The standard length of a parking bay is recognised for these purposes as 6m and requests will be rounded up to the closest 6m length (e.g. 15m will be rounded up to 18m)
- Proof of works such as copy of contract specifying nature of work may be required
- Each suspension expires at 23:59 on the final day requested, unless otherwise stated in the application
- Bay suspensions may be cancelled by Hampshire County Council at its discretion
- Any abuse of the bay suspension process may result in cancellation of the suspension and future applications being declined
- To make a change or to cancel a suspension, once it has been approved, this request will only be actioned, at no charge, if suitable notice of at least five working days is given before the suspension is scheduled to begin
- Once the signage is in place we are unable to cancel or amend a suspension, no refunds will be given, and a new application will need to be made
