Internal Audit careers
The Southern Internal Audit Partnership is now one of the largest providers of public sector internal audit in the region, delivering approximately 6,000 audit days across a diverse portfolio of 19 public sector organisations
The Southern Internal Audit Partnership includes a growing portfolio of new partners/clients which comprise Local Authorities (County, Unitary and District/Borough), Police, OPCC, Fire, Pension Fund, Higher Education, Further Education and Academies.
Recognising that the ability for organisations in the public sector to sustain a resilient, flexible, independent and effective in-house audit function is becoming an increasing challenge, the Southern Internal Audit Partnership brings together the professional discipline of internal audit, pooling expertise and enabling a flexible, responsive and resilient service to our partner and client portfolio.
The Southern Internal Audit Partnership strongly believes that the pooling of audit professionals into one cohesive entity overcomes the challenge of maintaining small in-house teams and provides greater career development/opportunities for audit professionals.
Our primary objectives are aligned to ensuring a quality, professional and value adding internal audit service; sharing best practice across the sector and maximising efficiencies and knowledge/understanding.
What our staff say...
Nat - Internal Audit Manager
I have been working within Internal Audit for 13 years and in that time I have progressed up into my current role as an Audit Manager.
The Southern Internal Audit Partnership (SIAP) work across a diverse portfolio of 19 public section organisations. Working in a partnership has brought with it an increase in the diversity of the work and provided learning opportunities and chances for staff to develop and move forward with their career.
Many of the staff within SIAP have either studied or are studying for the Institute of Internal Auditors professional qualification which is supported by SIAP.
I enjoy working across the variety of partners and am looking forward to being part of the future growth of the partnership and seeing what new opportunities this will bring.
Mark - Internal Auditor
I moved into Internal Audit two years ago having previously held roles in finance with Hampshire County Council.
Since joining the Southern Internal Audit Partnership, I have been encouraged to develop skills and to share ideas with colleagues to identify different opportunities to improve the way we work whilst being supported with my personal career development.
I have delivered work across our partner organisations and have been included in the provision of work for other client organisations that have employed our services, which has presented exciting opportunities to deliver a varied portfolio of reviews.
As a member of the Southern Internal Audit Partnership I feel valued and trusted to manage my workload whilst working as a member of a supportive and cohesive team.
