There is nothing more magical than seeing Christmas lights during the winter season, and the enchanting, illuminated trail, Enlightened, hosted at Staunton Farm, is one of the best places to see them.
This year, Fostering Hampshire Children are celebrating the foster carers who take on additional responsibilities as Volunteer Champions. Their role is to help raise the profile of the #OpenYourDoor campaign, which works with local communities across Hampshire to galvanise residents to support vulnerable children. To thank the volunteers for their fantastic efforts, the foster carers and their families got the chance to experience the mesmerising magic of the trail, courtesy of Enlightened Moments and Hampshire Countryside Parks.
Fostering Hampshire Children are so grateful for the partnership with Hampshire Countryside Parks. Their generous offer of free tickets to Enlightened for our wonderful Volunteer Champions and their families was massively appreciated and the experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all who were able to attend.
One foster carer, who visited the trail, said, “We’ve had a magical evening. We actually used the visit as a contact session with the birth family for one of our children which has given them a really special memory! These offers are invaluable for us as a family.”
It was a pleasure to see our Volunteer Champions relax and enjoy Enlightened at Staunton Farm. The insights and in-depth knowledge our volunteers share at awareness stands, information events and training sessions, are crucial as they help others on their journey to become foster carers. Thank you, Volunteer Champions, for your time, your patience, and your continued support of the #OpenYourDoor campaign to find 150 new foster care households across Hampshire by the end of 2023.
