Pod Stays

Poppy Pods for military families

The Enda Ryan Poppy Pod Village is our legacy to Armed Service personnel. These pods are here in perpetuity to recognise and remember the sacrifices made and faced by the Armed Forces Community.

The pods provide residential holiday/respite facilities for service personnel, veterans and their families, and have been designed with accessibility in mind.

This project has been made possible with the help of the Armed Forces Community Covenant, the Royal British Legion Brockenhurst Branch and Hampshire County Council.

Pay only a booking fee

Ex-military and current serving military can join the scheme and use the facility at weekends (max two nights) and school holidays* (max 4 nights). School holiday dates are based on Hampshire school holidays only.

To use the scheme, you must register as a member. Membership is only open to current serving members of the UK Armed Forces, reservists or military veterans who served in a full-time capacity.

Once registered, you’ll be sent a link to the booking system where you can check availability and book your stay. Each booking has a small booking fee attached of £15.00 per night/per pod. Our pods sleep up to four people - if you have a larger family you may need to book more than one to accommodate everyone.

Bookings cannot be processed by phone or email and you must use the booking link sent to you when you register. Remember to bring your military documentation each time you visit.

Camping pods for groups

The pods are in use during school holidays and at weekends by the military families. However, we do have mid-week availability for groups to book out the whole pod village.

Our camping pod village is ideal for those that want to add a touch of luxury to their camping trip.

The pods have been built to be sustainable and environmentally friendly and are each lit by a low powered solar panel battery system.

The ‘village’ can accommodate up to 80 people across the 20 pods, each of which can accommodate up to four people (two on the double bed, two on camp beds).

In the centre of the ‘village’ is a large roundhouse for communal cooking and eating. The pods aren’t heated but are considerably warmer than a tent so they’re a comfortable option for trips in colder months.
