'StreetSense' is a road safety campaign aimed at secondary school students aged 11 to 16
The StreetSense campaign aims to reduce the number of casualties among young people on Hampshire's roads. It highlights the dangers of being distracted at the roadside when using phones or talking to friends and reminds them to give the road their full attention.
The campaign also reminds young people how to stay safe as they travel to and from school, whether on foot, by bike, or in a vehicle.
This programme is delivered through an interactive online assembly and workshop hosted via Microsoft Teams. Both sessions encourage active participation, allowing students to share their ideas, responses, and opinions directly with the road safety officer leading the session.
The resources focus on developing effective decision making skills and understanding the importance of planning safe and appropriate routes as young people gain greater independence.
