About StreetSense

'StreetSense' is a road safety campaign aimed at secondary school students aged 11 -16

The campaign highlights the dangers of being distracted at the roadside. It is a Hampshire County Council led campaign that aims to reduce the number of casualties amongst this age group on Hampshire’s roads.

By using a variety of teaching methods, including interactive presentations and discussions as well as established Theatre in Education performances, the campaign reminds young people how to stay safe as they travel on foot or by bike as well as in vehicles, particularly to and from school.

The presentations and resources are designed to explore decision making and planning appropriate routes as young people become more independent. Being distracted by using mobiles or talking to friends is a key messages throughout reminding students to give the road their full attention.
