Coast
Hampshire’s coast is important for its commercial ports, landscape and nature conservation value, historic heritage, recreation, sailing, tourism and marine industries
The coast of Hampshire
The coast of Hampshire, from Highcliffe on the Dorset border to Chichester Harbour in West Sussex, is about 230 miles (370 kilometres). The Solent, the area between the Hampshire coast and the Isle of Wight, is one of the busiest coastal zones in England. We are a founding member of the Solent Forum which advises in planning and management of the Solent.
