How we manage the Canal

The Basingstoke Canal Authority (BCA), was set up to manage the Basingstoke Canal as a managing agent on behalf of the Hampshire and Surrey County Councils who jointly own the Canal.

Navigation

The river is approached from Southampton Water. Entry is possible by day or night and at all states of the tide for vessels with draughts of 2.5 metres or less.
