Continued Professional Development for Schools

Hampshire Music Hub offers a varied Continued Professional Development programme throughout the school year, to support developing expertise within your staff.

Who the CPD is for: Hampshire Music Service (HMS) is pleased to provide CPD for all staff in Hampshire schools, whatever their setting, experience and musical expertise. Training opportunities are offered for both non-specialist and specialist music teachers, Music Leads and Heads of Department.

CPD is available for all key stages, and for both mainstream and special education schools and settings.
What HMS provides: HMS runs an annual Music Hub Conference, where we welcome a Keynote Speaker to present. We run practical workshops, and offer sessions led by specialist practitioners and experts in the industry. This is an essential CPD opportunity for your Music Leads and specialist teachers.

HMS offers a series of CPD courses throughout the year. Training is led by our specialist team to support and further develop teachers’ expertise and confidence to teach and lead music effectively in your school.

HMS also offers termly music network meetings, where Music Leads and Heads of Department can keep up to date with current government guidance, initiatives and share good practice.

HMS offers in-house training at your school. CPD can be delivered as INSET or a staff meeting bespoke to the needs of your school staff.

HMS is also able to offer consultancy visits. These are tailored to each school’s needs and provide schools with the opportunity to audit their current provision, prepare for an OFSTED visit, review curriculum design, or provide focused CPD for an individual.
Duration of CPD: HMS can offer twilight, half-day, whole-day, or by the hour CPD designed to meet each school’s bespoke development needs. These can be delivered either online or in-person.
Costs and contact information: Consultancy visits are priced at £325per half day (3 hours) and £600 per whole day (6 hours).
