Come and join the Lepe team & a whole host of other wildlife loving organisations at our Wildlife celebration event. A two day wildlife themed festival for the whole family.

Wildlife Wonders

Enjoy wildlife-themed crafts, games and hands-on activities while learning about the incredible wildlife found at Lepe. Meet representatives from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, the RSPB, British Divers Marine Life Rescue and many other organisations.

With interactive stalls throughout the event, there's plenty to get involved in – including the opportunity to make your own seal with Martin from British Divers Marine Life Rescue. Come along and discover, create and celebrate wildlife with us!

What to expect:

Guided Bee Walk – 11am

Join members of Lepe’s bee survey group for a fascinating look into the world of bees and the important work being done to protect them. You’ll learn how the team monitors local bee populations, identifies different species, and supports conservation efforts to help these vital pollinators thrive. Through hands-on activities, engaging discussions, and plenty of pictures showing the bees in action, you’ll discover why these tiny creatures are so important to our environment—and how you can help too! Perfect for curious minds of all ages.

Bird Hide – All day

Cherry will be hanging around the bird hide all day helping you identify what can be seen over the dark water river.

Moth Trap Release & Talk – Sensory Garden

Join resident expert Bob over the course of the day as he opens the moth traps that have been left on overnight. With years of expertise, Bob will be able to identify what has been caught in the traps before safely releasing them back in their habitats.

Mini Beast Sweep – 12pm (Wednesday 5th August only)

Ranger Abby will be in the meadows using nets to sweep through the long grass to see what insects can be found.

Seashore Safari 1pm

Ranger Laura will be on the beach with ID charts, tally charts and pencils to help you identify the seashore creatures.

Crafts & activities

Our rangers will be on the clifftop showing you how you can make your garden pollinator friendly, by using some everyday stuff you can find at home, you will come away with some seed bombs and great tips and tricks to welcome those much needed pollinators to your garden.

Our volunteers will be alongside us for a variety of nature themed crafts throughout the day.
