Write a poem or a short story on the theme of Pollinators. This competition is part of our Pollinator Awareness at Lepe, to encourage people to look at our wildlife and celebrate what they love most about our plants and bugs.
Your written work needs to be submitted by email, and an entry form completed online before Friday 18 September 2026. Written work selected for the celebration event will be announced by the end of September. Any handwritten work, or text printed by yourself, will need to be delivered to Lepe Country Park before the event (date to be confirmed) and may be exhibited in The Lookout; work is to be collected by the writer after the event.
There are 3 age groups with prizes for the winners in each group, which includes a free Annual Car Parking Permit for Lepe Country Park.
Age groups:
Adults (18+)
Ages 11 to 17 (school years 7 and above)
Ages 4 to 11 (school years 6 and below)
Terms and Conditions:
• Please email your poem or short story to [email protected] (you can send a photo if it is handwritten).
• Your text needs to be a maximum of 1000 words.

• Submit your entry before Friday 18 September 2026.
• Only 1 entry per person will be accepted.
• The selected writers will be invited to take part in our event to celebrate the written word (date to be confirmed).
• Texts will be chosen by the Lepe Team and announced by the end of September.
• One winning text in each age group will receive an annual car parking permit.
• If you are Under 18 years of age, please ask a parent to submit your written work and give their permission for your text and name to be used.
• Submitting an entry confirms that we can use your text online or in our printed materials, with your name included.
Unfortunately we will not be able to select everyone, but we appreciate your interest in the competition and the Lepe Team look forward to seeing your work.
