School visits

Minstead Study Centre offers inspiring, high quality learning outside the classroom to schools and settings from across the south of England

The Minstead Study Centre education team are experienced practitioners with a wide array of school and non-school experience.

For key stage 1 and 2 groups we offer a flexible partnership, tailoring a programme in collaboration with your staff. Our education team are committed to working with you to help every child make the most from their stay. This includes the planning of a timetable, preparation of resources before your stay and support throughout the visit itself.

For key stages 3, 4 and sixth form, we offer a perfect base for science and geography field-work opportunities on-site and in the surrounding forest. Minstead is also an inspiring venue for a range of art and craft media.

Residential visits

For residential visitors, Minstead Study Centre accommodates up to 37 children and 4 staff, with only one school in residence at a time. This gives our visiting group a sense of safety and security, and prevents the worry some may experience at larger centres about the behaviour of other groups. While you are here, our home is your home!

Day visits

As well as residential courses, the Minstead Study Centre is a fantastic location for day visits with a wide and flexible range of opportunities for outdoor learning.

I just wanted to send an email to say a huge thank you to Laura and Caroline for the most amazing two days with you at Minstead.

All of the staff who attended commented on what a brilliant trip it was and the children absolutely loved it.

The trip felt so well organised and Laura and Caroline delivered the activities excellently and they were pitched so effectively for our children. [They] could not do enough for us and we all got so much from the two days. Thank you so much!”

Adult courses

Minstead Study Centre also provides educational nature experiences for adults. Throughout the year we run a range of courses based in and around our site. Previous courses have included breadmaking, fruit pruning, willow sculpture and wreathmaking.

If you are a trainer looking for a venue to run your courses, we’d love to work with you.
