Getting that work-life balance
Flexible working
We can offer flexibility on how and where you work, helping you to achieve a work-life balance that suits you.
Depending on the role, you and your manager can decide where and how you work, including working remotely if it suits the County Council’s needs. We offer flexible working options like part-time hours, job-sharing, term-time only roles and flexi-time to help balance work and home life.
Where you can work
Depending on the role, many of our staff can, at times, work from home or an alternative location, as well as from Council premises. Where this is possible in your role, you’ll be able to agree this with your manager. Our aim is to provide modern, efficient and productive ways of working that benefit both the Council and its employees.
Employee support
All colleagues have access to a range of resources to support their health and wellbeing, including events, courses and online tools. Free and confidential employee support is provided by Health Assured and includes 24/7 telephone and online support for work and personal issues. Legal, financial and health advice is also offered.
Wellbeing
The wellbeing of our colleagues is vital and our managers aim to build genuine relationships with colleagues, to support it. Throughout the year we offer formal and informal wellbeing events such as yoga, mindfulness, sleep tips, or nutrition advice. We mix it up to keep things exciting, so there’s always a chance for you to jump in and enjoy.
