Therapeutic providers
As part of our holistic approach to supporting families, we also work and commission a range of therapeutic providers through the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF) where a family or young person has been assessed for therapeutic services which could include:
- Therapeutic parenting
- Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy
- Theraplay
- Creative Therapies, e.g., art, music, drama, play
- Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
- Non-Violent Resistance (NVR)
- Sensory Integration Therapy/Sensory Attachment Therapy
- Psychotherapy
- Therapeutic Life Story Work
- Specialist Assessment with a focus on trauma and attachment
Before families can access therapeutic services funded through the ASGSF, they must first be assessed by our Adoption Support Team. This assessment helps us understand the child and family’s needs to determine the most appropriate support. If therapeutic services are recommended, we work with families to identify a suitable provider(s) from our Adoption Support Therapies Open Framework.
