Play and connect sessions
These in-person interactive sessions are designed to help young adoptive families pre-order and post-order to come together and experience the power of play. For up to 12 families, these sessions three times a year, are guided by our experienced staff. Parent(s) and their child/ren, will take part in sensory play, shared attention activities, and Theraplay-inspired games, all aimed at strengthening attachment and nurturing positive relationships.
Play is more than fun; it is essential for a child’s development. It supports emotional regulation, builds trust and creates a sense of security within a family. During the session, parents will also:
- Find out about our range of adoption support services and how we can help you on your adoption journey.
- Meet members of our Keeping in Touch Team as well as our Multi-Disciplinary Team and find out about the latest developments including Letter Swap as well as the support available to you.
- Get to know other families to develop your support network.
This is a safe, playful environment, where connection and community can thrive, giving you and your child the chance to bond, learn, and feel supported.
