Exploring Identity Through Life Story Work

Young people who have experienced trauma often need extra support and understanding to feel comfortable talking about their past. This can be especially important when sharing with their parents or even their closest family members.

This virtual or in-person four-hour workshop aims to give parents the skills needed to discuss their child’s story with them, in a therapeutic shared experience.

The course will cover Life Story Books and Later Life Letters, offering practical ways to talk about and connect with their child’s story using a therapeutic approach.

There will be breaks, and parents will also have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with other families during the workshop.

Really excellent training. Very open and supportive environment. How to support my children with this and how to give them the information they need. Safe space, well-lead, time to talk about our own issues and feel supported. Good discussions with a wide variety of experiences from attendees. Useful guidance on how to address potentially difficult questions.
