Foundations for Parenting: Nurturing Bonds (3 years +)
The Foundations for Parenting: Nurturing Bonds (3+ years) is a two-session online programme for families who have had children placed in recent months.
The learning programme aims to support:
- Family integration and stability: Support adoption processes to foster a sense of belonging within families.
- Children affected by early childhood trauma: Explore the impacts of early trauma and apply trauma-informed approaches to developmental stages.
- Strengthen attachments and relationships: Build and enhance emotional bonds with children through informed parenting strategies.
- Expand therapeutic parenting knowledge: Develop and implement trauma-informed and attachment-aware parenting techniques.
- Develop resilience and self-esteem: Encourage positive interactions to build children's resilience and self-esteem.
- Positive discipline and Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy (PACE).
Parents will explore and practise every day therapeutic parenting strategies as well as meet other adoptive families, share experiences, and learn together in a supportive space.
