In-house support and guidance

When a child becomes part of your family, life brings new experiences in wonderful and sometimes challenging ways. We are here to make sure parents feel supported as their child/ren grow and develop.

Before the Adoption Order, parents receive support from their social worker with the wider Stage 2 Assessment and Support Team as their main point of contact. They guide parents through the early days and help prepare for what is ahead.

Once the order is granted, our Adoption Support Team will offer help and support as a child grows, and family life evolves. From practical advice and reassurance to workshops, mentoring, and social opportunities, we will work with parents to find what feels right for each family.

When you call us, we start by listening. Sometimes that first conversation is enough, but if more support could help, we will talk about next steps. This might include a discussion or an Adoption Support Needs Assessment (ASNA).
