Keeping in Touch - Webinars

Our Keeping in Touch Team offer a range of online learning for adoptive families, focusing on the role of quality post-adoption contact in shaping a child’s identity.

The Journey to Keeping in Touch webinar

The Journey to Keeping in Touch webinar is designed for both pre and post order families who want to understand more about keeping in touch and how it supports meaningful, healthy relationships with a child’s birth relatives.

Led by our Keeping in Touch Team, the sessions offer space for adoptive parents, whether newly approved or further along in their journey, to share experiences and receive expert guidance. Content is supported by PAC-UK and Adoption England, together with research from the Nuffield Family Justice Observatory, the University of East Anglia, and direct work with families.

Newly approved adopters are asked to attend this webinar within two months of their approval panel. The session runs once a month, and post-order families are very welcome too, especially if they would like to revisit or refresh their understanding of contact. Each month, booking details are shared with all families who are signed up to receive learning and events from the Adoption Support Team, so it is easy to join whenever you feel it would be helpful.

Keeping in Touch Webinar: Tech Talk - Using Technology to Improve Contact

This learning session is designed to help parents discover how technology can improve the quality of Keeping in Touch arrangements.

Led by members of our Keeping in Touch Team, the session held every three months, looks at the latest research and digital innovations, including Letter Swap, and how this benefits families. We also discuss practical ways to support parents and their child/ren when navigating social media.

Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with other families during the webinar.
