Virtual reality experiences
Virtual reality (VR) is introduced early in the adoption process, before applicants are approved and is also available pre- and post-order. It provides an immersive way to understand the lived experiences of children who may have faced trauma or missed out on nurturing, responsive care in their early years, factors that can affect cognitive and behavioural development.
Virtual reality is an immersive 3D experience. When you put on a headset, a short film plays that makes you feel as though you are inside a real-life scenario, seeing the world through a child’s eyes. This activity lets you see and hear what a child might go through, helping you understand how early events can feel from their perspective.
Through this immersive approach, individuals gain insights into why therapeutic responses are so important. We then introduce practical strategies focused on therapeutic parenting, equipping parents to support children who have experienced trauma and to promote long-term stability and attachment.
