Funding for food support organisations across Hampshire

The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) Community Assets Grant programme provides funding to food banks, community pantries, mobile larders and other food support organisations that are helping Hampshire residents experiencing financial hardship. The programme aims to ensure residents can access immediate food support while also building longer-term financial resilience and independence.

The programme supports Hampshire's ambition to move from responding to crises towards preventing them by creating stronger, more connected support pathways for residents.

Funding can be used for:

• purchase food stock for eligible food support organisations
• contribute towards the costs of delivering food support
• organisations to strengthen/develop the wider resilience support for residents

What we are looking for?

The CRF places a strong emphasis on helping residents move beyond crisis support and towards greater independence.

We welcome applications from organisations that can demonstrate:

• Strong community need
• Effective food support provision
• Activities that build financial resilience and independence
• Local partnerships and referral pathways
• A commitment to helping residents access wider support
• Contribution to Hampshire's "No Wrong Door" approach
• Plans to support residents to move up the "Food Ladder" and reduce reliance on emergency food support over time

Organisations do not need to deliver all resilience services directly. Applications that demonstrate clear partnership working, referral pathways or co-located support are encouraged.

Funding period

Applications can be submitted for:

• Up to 12 months of food stock funding (capped)
• Up to three years of infrastructure (capped) and wraparound support funding, up to 31 March 2029

Applications for Community Asset Grant funding can be submitted until 28 October 2026.

Application process

Applications will be reviewed by Hampshire County Council's Crisis and Resilience Fund team and assessed against programme priorities, evidence of need, value for money, partnership working and expected outcomes.

Organisations are encouraged to discuss proposals with the C4C Team before submission where additional advice or support would be beneficial. Early engagement can help strengthen proposals and ensure alignment with CRF objectives.
