A short history of the parish of Buriton
The parish of Buriton lies immediately south of Petersfield in eastern Hampshire. The South Downs form a magnificent backdrop. This dramatic scenery, in the heart of the National Park, is also of international biological and landscape importance.

Directions
A circular route (anti-clockwise) using parts of the Shipwrights Way and the Hangers Way. This route includes some sections on local lanes.
The walk starts and ends at the public parking area on B2070. It follows the Shipwrights Way along Bolinge Hill Lane and Petersfield Road to Buriton village. The walk returns northwards via the Hangers Way before turning left onto B2070 for the short distance back to the parking area.
