Important Information
As a site of significant historical value, Calshot has uneven surfaces throughout. Caution and sensible footwear are advised when driving and walking around the site.
Temporary maintenance
From 1 June 2026, pre-planned maintenance works will be taking place across the site and you may notice scaffolding and contractors for up to six weeks. There will be restricted access during this time whereby customers will not be able to enter the café via the rear access (beachside) doors. Please access the cafe via the Sunderland Hangar - dogs are permitted through the hangar to enter the cafe during this time. These improvements are part of an ongoing programme to ensure Calshot remains accessible and enjoyable for all our customers. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
Situated within the Sunderland Hangar and offering truly spectacular views of the Solent, the Café at Calshot is the perfect place to enjoy a warming cup of coffee, a cake or light snack. Bottled beers, wines and soft drinks are available.
Whether you’re taking part in an activity, here to watch others or just passing by, nothing will be too much trouble for our friendly staff who will always give you a warm welcome.
Opening Times
9:30am to 5pm daily.
The kitchen closes at 3pm but will continue to serve a selection of cakes and hot plate food.

Children’s play area
Suited for children five and under we now have a selection of role play toys available throughout the week for all customers.
This play area follows the opening times of the café.
Children are to be supervised at ALL times.
Bespoke parties, events or special occasions
For bespoke parties, events or special occasions, we have an in-house catering team that can prepare anything from a simple selection of pre-made sandwiches to a hot buffet – we’ve something to meet all budgets! Find out more about event space and room hire.
