Powerboating
Powerboating offers both the gentle pace of a leisurely cruise and the thrill of flying across the open water. Whatever your pace, our RYA courses will give you the confidence and skills to handle the boat safely and make the most of your time out on the water.
As well as courses for more recreational means, RYA certificates are used by industry professionals to prove competence or when professional qualifications are a role requirement. In many countries the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) is a professional requirement. For corporate clients, we can tailor courses and dates to individual needs.
RYA level 2 powerboat handling
This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the ICC. Using planing craft, the course aims to teach boat handling and seamanship, focussing on high and low-speed handling, launching and recovery and collision regulations.
Successful candidates can apply for the ICC (power/coastal up to 10m) - please ask for details when booking.

RYA safety boat course
This course will introduce you to the techniques required to provide safety or support cover to a range of craft, particularly sailing and windsurfing.
Other topics will include towing, communication and rescuing other water users.
- Candidates must hold a RYA level 2 powerboat handling award and a first aid qualification is strongly recommended
