Dog walking at River Hamble Country Park

Dogs are welcome at River Hamble Country Park along with their human companions, with plenty of facilities on offer to ensure they enjoy their visit as much as you do.

Be respectful of the wonderful wildlife throughout the park and follow our paw print prompts around the site for when to put your dog on a lead and when they can run free. Please be aware that there are livestock fields throughout the park - particularly near the farm.

Dog bins

Make use of the dog waste bins throughout the park to keep our outdoor spaces clean and wildlife protected.

Countryside Canines

Preserving our natural spaces is important to us, which is why we ask dog owners to follow Hampshire’s Canine Code when visiting our sites. Help to make the countryside a place for everyone to enjoy by following our guidance.

Dog wash

This easy-to-use facility will help keep muddy pooches clean and provide a bit of pampering for your pet. Make the most of the warm water, shampoo and a two-setting dryer for a small cost and relax after your walk without the worry of cleaning up muddy paw prints.

Dog exercise field

Let your dog stretch its legs in our dog-friendly exercise field. Whether you’re training your dog or simply giving it a good run around, this enclosed space is the perfect playground for your pet.

Available to book between the hours of 10:30 to 15:30 on Saturdays and Sundays (terms and conditions apply). Contact us at [email protected] to make your booking.

The field is free for general use at other times – ground conditions permitting.

Follow our dog etiquette guidelines when visiting The Barn

Keep control

Avoid your dog jumping up or pestering other guests. Dogs must remain on the floor, on leads and be accompanied by their owner at all times.

Clean

Make sure your dog is clean and dry. Wipe muddy paws (and remind your owner to wipe their boots too). Why not try out our Dog Wash!

Friendly

Make sure your dog is happy, calm and well behaved.

Loud barking can be very distressing for others.

No food

Please feed and water your dog outside.

We have a fresh water bowl outside by the entrance doors.
