Chilling Coastal Area
Sea views from cliff tops overlooking the Solent, coastal farmland and woodland with attractive walks
About the site
Within Chilling Coastal Area are woodlands including Chilling Copse, Thatchers Copse and Brownwich Valley. Ponds and streams in the area are important for a wide variety of wildlife. Undisturbed wintering flocks of brent geese use the site for feeding while bluebells are prevalent throughout the woodlands. If you haven’t already explored Chilling Coastal Area then a walk, bike ride or horse ride here is a must. Practical work here is focused on creating and enhancing conditions for dormice, a protected species.
