Sandy Point
Coastal dune, heath and grassland with rare plants and insects
About the site
At the south eastern corner of Hayling Island, Sandy Point Nature Reserve has a mosaic of habitats. This mosaic is made up of sand dunes, heathland, shingle, grassland and scrub. These fragile habitats offer a glimpse into how Hayling Island’s southern foreshore would have once looked.
Because of its delicate nature Sandy Point Nature Reserve is closed to the public.
The surrounding beach and shingle are accessible and offer views of the Solent and reserve.
