The site makes a good stopping point for those who like to enjoy the countryside by bicycle. There is plenty for keen birdwatchers to see. Look out for linnets, yellowhammers and skylarks. Buzzards are often spotted circling far overhead in search of their next meal. Kestrels too, scouring the land for prey at lower altitudes.
Those of you who enjoy the scenery from this viewpoint may wish to proceed from here to Beacon Hill. The site of an ancient Iron Age hill fort, its peak lies 261 meters above sea level. Views from the top are breath-taking - if you have the energy for the climb!
